Tatev Monastery was founded in the 9th century. There are two versions concerning to the origin of the Monasteries name. The complex was built on a steep precipice, with a breathtaking view of the picturesque nature. Tatev is really magical area, there is a very special atmosphere. To get to the monastery you can by the longest cableway in the world, listed in the Guinness Book of Records - тhe ropeway "Wings of Tatev".
